Dr. Allison has a long history of involvement with pediatric and adolescent gynecology as evidenced by her serving as the gynecology section chief at Phoenix Children’s Hospital over 20 years ago.
She is interested in treating delayed puberty, early sexual development and menstrual disorders. Dr. Allison does not perform exams to evaluate the possibility of sexual abuse.
She considers adolescents a special group. Whether it is providing education about growth and development or giving information about contraception, she is happy to have them in her practice.
Dr. Allison is particularly interested in acquainting teens with Long Acting Reversible Contraception or LARCs. Highly dependable, this form of birth control which includes the Nexplanon implant or IUDs including Skyla and Mirena have been successful in decreasing the teen pregnancy rate in this country.
